DEFINITION OF VOLUNTEER

A Volunteer with Stonewall Citizens’ Patrol is a person who contributes their time to patrol and assist in various aspects of public safety in the neighborhoods of Hillcrest, Bankers Hill, North Park, University Heights, and surrounding areas or Stonewall Citizens’ Patrol sponsored activity. A Volunteer shall sign below in their individual capacity. 

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF RECEIPT OF PATROL POLICY

By signing this form, Volunteer acknowledges the receipt of the Stonewall Citizens’ Patrol Handbook.  Furthermore, Volunteer agrees to abide by all instructions contained in that handbook and understands that violation of any part of the policy may result in the dismissal of Volunteer from service with Stonewall Citizens’ Patrol.

WAIVER OF COMPENSATION

Volunteer shall receive no compensation from Stonewall Citizens’ Patrol for any services rendered or duties performed.

DEFINING AREAS OF INTEREST (PATROL AREA)

The “Areas of Interest” to patrol include, without limitation, Hillcrest, Bankers Hill, North Park, University Heights, and any surrounding areas or Stonewall Citizens’ Patrol sponsored activity.  All locations shall be covered by this Release. 

AGREEMENT TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR OWN ACTIONS

Volunteer understands that all behaviors and actions exhibited by Volunteer are the sole responsibility of Volunteer alone.  Stonewall Citizens’ Patrol, its agents, directors, assigns, volunteers, or committee members will not be held responsible for the behavior or actions of Volunteer that are in contradiction to Stonewall Citizens’ Patrol policies.

AGREEMENT FOR BEING DRUG AND ALCOHOL-FREE WHILE ON DUTY

Volunteer acknowledges that consumption of alcoholic beverages or use of illicit or certain prescription drugs prior to or while on duty will be grounds for dismissal from service with Stonewall Citizens’ Patrol.  There is a ZERO tolerance on this policy.  The Executive Director must only have suspicion of Volunteer being under the influence while on duty to dismiss Volunteer.  No definitive proof is necessary to dismiss.

Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk

The undersigned, Volunteer for Stonewall Citizens’ Patrol, in attending, aiding, participating, performing, or providing a service for patrolling duties will do so at Volunteer’s own risk. 

Stonewall Citizens’ Patrol, its agents, directors, assigns, volunteers, committee members, shall not be liable for any damages arising from personal injuries or property damage sustained by Volunteer while conducting their patrol duties. 

Volunteer assumes full responsibility for any injuries or damages that may occur to Volunteer in or about the Areas of Interest while attending, assisting, or otherwise participating in a patrol or organization activity, and shall fully and forever release and discharge Stonewall Citizens’ Patrol and all related agents from any and all claims, demands, damages, rights of action or causes of action, present or future, whether the same be known, anticipated or unanticipated, resulting from or arising out of or incident to the Volunteer’s attendance, assistance or participation while engaged in any activity of Stonewall Citizens’ Patrol.
