SCP Leading the Way!!!

Another San Diego Pride in the books, and another weekend of SCP shining and leading the way in our community. From the start of the parade to the end of the festival, SCP was involved at so many levels to ensure our community remained safe. In a 48-hour period, SCP combined contribution back to our community was over 100 hours! Regarding managing Pride Volunteers, SCP was responsible for over 60 volunteers who managed and guarded the Festival Emergency Exits which contributed to nearly 300 hours of volunteer time. On top of this, our patrol vehicle in the parade with 284 contingents and 10,000 participants, passed by nearly 300,000 spectators that lined the streets or viewed us live on ABC, and was right at the main entrance where nearly 27,000 guests passed by it on Saturday and 23,000 on Sunday. New this year, our booth location was moved to the lower level and included a group of community like-minded organizations that included local and federal law enforcement agencies, veteran resources, and a place for veterans to gather and relax a bit during their Pride celebrations.
To ensure all this occurred, the following volunteers made this all possible:

St Paul’s Cathedral Lighting:
Yuo Wu, Patrol Volunteer/Treasurer/Co-Coordinator Festival Emergency Exit Team
Jessica Sinado, Patrol Volunteer

Parade:
Cris Soulia, Patrol Volunteer
Eugene Nunez, Patrol Volunteer
Ken Bordelon, Patrol Volunteer

Gabe Mason, Patrol Volunteer/Field Training Officer
Jackson Redmond, Communication Volunteer

Festival Booth:
Balinda Galindo, Patrol Volunteer

Gabe Mason, Patrol Volunteer/Field Training Officer
Jackson Redmond, Communication Volunteer
Ryan Joynt, Patrol Volunteer
Doug Holk, Patrol Volunteer/Vice President
Cris Soulia, Patrol Volunteer

Emergency Exits:
Yuo Wu, Patrol Volunteer/Treasurer/Co-Coordinator Festival Emergency Exit Team
William Pontius, Patrol Volunteer

In addition to the above volunteers, we had community members who joined our parade contingent, staffed our festival booth, and answered our ‘call to action’ and volunteered as emergency exit volunteers throughout the weekend.

We are a proud community organization and it showed front stage this weekend!!! Great job #teamstonewall. We showed San Diego how to be #communitystrong!
